Crawlspace Fix Eliminates Cold Floors and Moisture Issues in Lincroft, NJ

A homeowner in Lincroft, NJ was dealing with cold floors and uncomfortable first-floor rooms in the winter, while summer brought warm, humid air into the crawlspace, leading to high humidity and condensation. This problem gets worse when ductwork is present, as warm air hitting cooler ducts can cause condensation, mold, rot, odors, and pest activity—while also warming up conditioned air. To fix it, we installed rigid foam board with a radiant barrier along the porous cinder block walls to block moisture and outside air, then sealed all gaps and spray foamed the rim joists, sill plates, and block cavities. The result is a drier crawlspace, improved comfort, and lower energy bills.
