We're addressing a skylight in Middletown Township, NJ, where conditioned air is escaping into the attic or unconditioned air is infiltrating the rooms below. This issue is driving up energy costs for the homeowner, making summers hotter and winters colder due to heat loss and gain.
Solution
Upon inspecting the attic, we observed that the skylight was inadequately insulated with fiberglass, providing minimal insulation and comfort. Our solution involves installing SilverGlo foam boards over the skylight framing and meticulously air sealing every gap. This prevents conditioned air from escaping into the attic and stops unconditioned air from entering the rooms below. SilverGlo's radiant barrier further reduces heat loss and gain. These improvements ensure a more comfortable home environment and lower energy bills for homeowners.
