Cantilever Poorly Insulated in Eatontown, NJ

A homeowner in Eatontown, NJ had a cantilever that was not properly insulated. The cantilever was leaking air into the house creating cold drafts in the winter and hot stuffy air during the summer. When our team of experts inspected the cantilever we found the insulation was inadequate, did not fill the bay, and could not stop the air flow.

Using our 4” thick SilverGlo foam board insulation we block each joist bay. Each block is sealed in with expanding foam. We have now completely blocked outside air from leaking into the home. Finally, we installed a 4” thick SilverGlo insulation board against the underside of the floor deck and sealed with foam.

This homeowner now has a properly insulated cantilever that will provide a more comfortable and energy efficient home.
