Leaky Ducts & Poor Attic Insulation Were Costing This Wall, NJ Homeowner Money
During our free home evaluation in Wall, NJ, we found the ductwork was uninsulated, leaking at the connections, and not properly mastic sealed. The attic was also not air sealed or adequately insulated, allowing radiant heat in the summer to warm the ducts and reduce cooling efficiency, while in the winter heated air was escaping into the attic. This caused the system to run longer, waste energy, and drive up costs. We corrected the problem by air sealing and insulating the attic and encapsulating the ductwork so the conditioned air stays where it belongs.
