We inspected the owner’s house in Point Pleasant Beach, NJ, and found leaky ductwork, a poorly insulated attic, and the attic was not air sealed. To fix the leaky ductwork, we use our SilverGlo insulation panels to encapsulate the ducts. Using our orange ZypFoam sealant, our experts will air seal the floor, the seams of the newly installed SilverGlo, and any of the ductwork connections that may need additional attention. Next, we built catwalk dams or retaining walls along the attic floor to help contain our blown-in insulation. Finally, we blow in our TruSoft cellulose insulation to complete the attic. By air sealing, insulating the attic properly, and encapsulating the leaky ductwork, we have made this house more comfortable and energy efficient.
A homeowner in Fair Haven, NJ, faced issues with a crawl space that had inadequate insulation. The porous brick foundation walls and exposed rim joists allowed air to infiltrate both the crawl space and the house. Additionally, moisture from the dirt floor contributed to the home's discomfort. To resolve these issues, we insulated the foundation walls with SilverGlo insulation boards, spray-foamed the rim joists, and encapsulated the dirt floor with a vapor barrier to prevent gases and moisture from rising. These enhancements have significantly improved the home’s comfort and energy efficiency.
In Fair Haven, NJ, a homeowner had cold drafty rooms in the winter and hot stuffy rooms in the summer. The problem was linked to insufficient insulation in their attic, particularly along the wall adjacent to the conditioned room. Upon inspection, we discovered dirty insulation, indicating that conditioned air was leaking into the attic, causing the owner to pay more and making their room uncomfortable. To address this problem, we installed SilverGlo insulation panels on the adjoining wall and sealed any gaps with our orange ZypFoam sealant. As a result of these improvements, the homeowner now enjoys a more comfortable and energy-efficient room with vaulted ceilings.
Our crew installed a SuperDeck for a homeowner in Fair Haven, NJ, and discovered that the bathroom exhaust hose or duct was neither insulated nor venting correctly. The exhaust was directed into the soffit, but the duct or hose was crushed, preventing proper ventilation. We replaced the damaged duct or hose with an insulated one and ensured it was correctly connected to a vent hood through the roof or gable end wall. This prevents moisture buildup, mold growth, and rot in the soffits or roof rafters. By keeping moisture out of the attic, we’re improving the home’s health and indoor air quality.
In Fair Haven, NJ, during a crawl space inspection, we found mold growth caused by outside air leaking into the vented crawl space, creating excessive moisture and humidity. This elevated humidity leads to mold forming on surfaces such as house framing, subfloors, ducts, or wet insulation. After removing contaminated fiberglass insulation, we sealed crawl space vents with SilverGlo foam blocks and foam sealant. We then applied SilverGlo foam boards to foundation walls, spray foamed exposed rim joists, and installed a CleanSpace encapsulation liner. Finally, we treated the affected area with Mold X2 stain remover and fogged the entire crawl space with Mold X2 botanical to prevent future mold growth. Considering that up to 70% of indoor air can originate from crawl spaces via the stack effect, addressing these issues is crucial for healthier indoor air quality.
