Ocean Grove NJ Attic Upgrade Stops Can Light Leaks and Boosts Comfort

During our free inspection in Ocean Grove, NJ, we found that the can lights were leaking conditioned air into the attic. The attic also had inadequate insulation and lacked proper air sealing. By sealing the top plates and all wire and pipe penetrations, we were able to tighten up the home. We installed can light covers and sealed them with foam to stop air leaks. Once everything was sealed, we blew in TruSoft cellulose insulation to the optimal R-60 level. The “after” photo was taken before we added the full amount of insulation. Now, the homeowner enjoys a more comfortable home and lower monthly bills.

Air Sealing & Insulation Transform a Drafty, Stuffy Long Branch, NJ, Home into a Cozy Retreat

A homeowner in Long Branch, NJ, had a small little attic that was poorly insulated. With inadequate insulation this owner was dealing with cold and drafty rooms in the winter and stuffy and hot rooms in the summer. After inspecting the attic we also noticed the attic was not properly air sealed. We air sealed the attic floors, sealed any leaky ducts, used wooden retaining walls and sealed the wooden decking while blowing-in TruSoft cellulose insulation to the optimal R-60 value. The homeowner now has a properly insulated attic, improving comfort, energy efficiency, and indoor air quality.

Cold Floors Eliminated with Crawl Space Insulation and Encapsulation in Long Branch, NJ

A homeowner in Long Branch, NJ was dealing with cold floors and drafty areas along the first-floor exterior walls. After inspecting the home, we found the crawl space was not properly insulated, and the rim joists and sill plate had been left unsealed, allowing cold air to leak into the lower level and cause discomfort. To address the issue, we encapsulated the crawl space with a vapor barrier, installed rigid foam insulation on the crawl space walls, and sealed and insulated the rim joists and sill plate with spray foam. We also air sealed and insulated the attic to help reduce the stack effect. These improvements eliminated the cold floors and drafts, resulting in a more comfortable and energy-efficient home.
